A musical journey through sacred lineage from collective spiritual adventures, woven together with soaring vocals, intricate melodies, devotional chants, electronic atmospherics and ethnic percussion grooves
Evensong was birthed in collaboration between Grammy nominated sacred music singer and longtime yogi, Carmella Gitanjali Baynie and much loved composer, performer, sound artist and PHD ,Yantra de Vilder for over 30 years. Yantra is orignally from Bellingen and Both ex-residents of Byron Bay and now based on the northern outskirts of Sydney - this is a meetings of kindred souls, who have dedicated their lives to music for meditation, composition, performance and devotional arts for over three decades.
Their unique concerts are an opportunity to be immersed in music from their spiritual and cultural backgrounds, journeying through ancient and contemporary chants from Latin to Aramaic, Sanskrit, English and Darkenyung
Evensong collaborators
Konrad Ball is a much sought after bass player, based in Kariong NSW. He gracefully eases between pop, rock, funk , jazz, classical Arabic and Hebrew ensembles and was acclaimed for his recent performances in Jersey Boys at Sydney’s Capital Theatre.
Bondi resident Blair Greenberg is a well known multi instrumentalist, composer, teacher and producer. He has performed with Darren Percival, Cristine Anu, Zulya, Kavisha Mazella, Jeannie Lewis, Margret Roadnight, Robyn Archer, Flying Fruit Fly Circus, Theatre of the Deaf, Kim Sanders, Linsey Pollak, Paranormal Music Society, Musica Viva in Schools and many many more.
